Strategic Thinking and Planning

The world requires much of its leaders. One of its greatest requirements is speed of decision-making and action. What is frequently sacrificed is strategic thinktime and planning. In the rush to make things happen, today’s leader often does not take the time to consider his or her path as profoundly as necessary. Instead, we react to what comes our way without charting our own course or driving to a vision of the future. Our coaching helps leaders focus and consider strategic goals and enact a plan that will keep their company and team on the right path.

Business Leadership Coaching

Our leadership coaching focuses on helping today’s leaders:

  1. Create the vision of the future state
  2. Define their future vision
  3. Create objectives
  4. Develop plans
  5. Establish milestones
  6. Measure progress and outcomes

Focus on the Objective

This important service and tool are for the professional who wants to improve his/her bottom-line results, however measured, by starting at the end–the desired outcome.

Focusing on the objective, designing for results, and integrating the output ensures a higher-quality, long-lasting deliverable. Once this outcome is established, CSC helps our client identify the steps to operationalize the imperative. This can be done at any level within the organization, but it must be integrated structurally and behaviorally.

Strong Effective Leadership = Sustainable High Performance

After developing a key part of the business, a structure must be put in place to ensure its continuation. In addition, leaders must reinforce it and give it context. CSC works to ensure the deliverable is integrated across the leadership process and work product levels.

Strategic Planning Support and Facilitation

The CSC Calibrated Strategic Facilitation (CSF) Method is based on decades of successful consulting results. Success is measured by the gains our clients are able to make toward their ultimate goals. This includes gains in the following:

  • Top and bottom-line financial performance
  • Market share
  • Overall operating performance

Repeated success in the areas above don’t happen by accident, luck or talent alone; it is the outcomes of an artfully-designed and carefully executed facilitation process. The CSF Method focuses on calibrating big ideas with achievable action plans.

Calibrated Strategic Facilitation Process

The CSF Method is an eight-phase process. Each step along the way has a defined beginning and end based on each client’s individual progress. Below is the process outline we apply for our Strategic Planning and Support and Facilitation using the CSF Method:

3 Elements of CSC’s Calibrated Strategic Facilitation Method

These elements set CSC apart from most other consulting groups

Click below to see how we compare:

Preparation

CSC understands that participants are rarely adequetly prepared to strategize when they arrive at the planning meeting.

Integration

Facilitating cross-functional integration requires more than assembling the right group of leaders. It requires facilitating an understanding of current processes and opportunities. CSC uses that information to forecast short-term implications and create strategies for long-term success. By using the CSF Method, consultants blend concept training with ideating and problem-solving to generate viable and actionable plans.

Symbiotic Consulting
Typical consulting relations are (formally or informally) structured in one of two ways:

  1. The consultant facilitates the group to an outcome and concludes the engagement.
  2. The firm embeds consultants into the organization in order to execute the strategy.

Both strategies run the risk of yielding unsustainable solutions. In the first scenario, the strategic process leadership departs from the project too early. In the second scenario, the organization becomes overly reliant on the consulting firm to do the work.

With the CSF Method, you lead the client firm to generate solutions and then you remain to work with them and instruct the implementation leads to facilitate quarterly progress meetings. This process ensures that the client organization retains the strategic leadership it needs while also taking full ownership of the project. This symbiotic relationship ensures that both organizations work together, yet remain separate in their functions.

We have witnessed over and over how this process yields excellent results.
